Reimagining Space: How My Pop-Up Space Is Turning Glasgow’s Hidden Venues Into Community Hubs
Share
Across the UK, countless bars, lounges, and heritage office buildings sit empty for much of the week. The lights go off after closing time. Meeting rooms sit unused between tenants. Yet just outside their doors, creators, organisers, and small collectives are looking for flexible, inspiring places to bring people together.
My Pop-Up.Space is here to bridge that gap, starting in Glasgow, with plans to expand to cities like Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol, and London.
A Simple Idea with Big Potential
At its heart, My Pop-Up Space makes it easy for people to connect in inspiring, local spaces. We help bar venues, lounges, and office landlords open their doors to community events, pop-ups, workshops, and meetups, transforming under-used rooms into living parts of the city again.
Imagine an after-work lounge hosting a creative showcase, a disused meeting room turned into a poetry night, or a historic office suite opening its doors to a social impact workshop.
By reusing existing infrastructure, we’re not just cutting down on wasted space, we’re helping revive local economies and build stronger, more connected neighbourhoods.

Making Space for What Matters
As a purpose-driven initiative, My Pop-Up.Space aligns with B Corp values, balancing profit with people and planet.
Our model encourages:
Sustainable reuse of existing spaces rather than new builds
Economic opportunity for independent bars, venues and landlords
Community empowerment through accessible, low-barrier venues
Every booking helps generate income for local venues, supports independent business owners, and gives creators and communities the space to connect and grow without long leases, high costs, or unnecessary waste.
Why Glasgow?
Glasgow has always been a city that thrives on creativity and community, from grassroots music venues to repurposed industrial studios. Yet many Grade A listed offices and after-hours venues sit underused, particularly in the city centre.
Our pilot aims to test how flexible, short-term bookings can unlock new value for property owners while giving local people the chance to host something meaningful in the heart of their city.
